The Whisky Exchange Whisky Show 2012 – Tickets Now On Sale

1 Comment on The Whisky Exchange Whisky Show 2012 – Tickets Now On Sale

We’re delighted to announce that The Whisky Exchange Whisky Show (the UK’s greatest whisky tasting event in our thoroughly biased opinion) will be returning to Vinopolis on 6th-7th October 2012 – and tickets are on sale now!

Vinopolis is a suitably stunning venue for the UK’s greatest Whisky Show

As ever, this year’s Show will be bigger and better than ever before.  For starters, we’ve tweaked the format, dropping the Friday session to dedicate both days of the weekend to consumer events: there will now be two six-hour consumer sessions on the Saturday and Sunday, while trade visitors will have their own dedicated session on the Monday.  This is great for several (well, three) reasons:

  • With no Friday evening session, the Show is more conveniently timed for our guests, with consumer sessions on Saturday and Sunday both running from 12pm-6pm.  This means that people who couldn’t make the Friday consumer session in previous years because of work etc can now buy a weekend ticket and enjoy both days of the Show.
  • This also has the added benefit of ensuring that our exhibitors (and, even more importantly, me and the rest of the TWE team) don’t have to spend thirteen hours at the venue on the first day of the show.
  • The dedicated trade-only day means there is no overlap between the trade and consumer events, which is better for both parties (and for the exhibitors).

We’re very excited by this year’s Show, which will continue with our winning formula of amazing high-quality whiskies and delicious food for all guests.  As usual, we’ve tried to kick everything up a notch this year, so here’s a quick run-down of some of the highlights:

Cocktails and Food-Matching are a big part of the Show

We’ve expanded the Food Pairings for 2012 – they’ll be taking up the entirety of Vinopolis’s Academia room with more of Martine Nouet’s Extreme Food Matches than ever before.  Anyone who tried the Amrut matched with Date & Tamarind chutney and natural yoghurt last year will know that this is a very good thing.

We’re taking on an extra room!  We’ve decided to move the Show Brasserie (with its special whisky-inspired food menu designed by Martine) down to Vinopolis’s Gallery, which frees up the Mezzanine for a new, extra-special Show feature!  Can’t tell you too much about this just yet, but it’s going to to be very cool.

We’re also working on staging even more spectacular Masterclasses for this year.  Again, these are under wraps at present, but we’ll be announcing details in due course.  As ever, Masterclass tickets will be sold separately and you will need a valid Day or Weekend Ticket to attend.

TWE Whisky Show has the kind of Drams other shows can only Dream of…

As before, we’ll be running free Mini-Masterclasses for our guests, so make sure you sign up on the day if you fancy them.  We’re also keeping the Bonus Dream Dram idea from last year, so if you want to buy extra tokens you can Dream Dram to your heart’s content.  As with all our previous Shows, all other food and whisky samples apart from the Dream Drams are included in the ticket price and every guest will also be entitled to free whisky cocktails throughout the session and a two course meal at the Show Brasserie. You lucky people!

With such a fantastic line-up (with more exhibitors to be announced very shortly), lots of free food and drink and no voucher system, we reckon our Show knocks the socks off our competitors and truly deserves to be known as the best-value luxury tasting event in the UK.
