Web editor, cocktail lover, former computer programmer, long time blogger about Stuff and Things (including booze) and hat fan. Billy accidentally got a job at TWE in the spring of 2011, leaving behind the world of finance (good timing) to learn all about booze and do the bits of Tim's job that he doesn't want to.
Tim was the TWE blog’s first blogger and has worked for The Whisky Exchange since 2003, where he has risen to the dizzy heights of Web Content Editor after grubbing his way up from the trade desk. Along with his recently-arrived protégé / lackey Billy, he is to blame for all the written content on the TWE website, plus tasting notes, press releases and inept faffing around on various forms of social meeja.
Assistant manager at our Vinopolis shop and head of events, putting together the extensive program of masterclasses and tastings that we run during the year, most of which you can read about here on the blog. Sometimes he even gets time to write a post of his own.
A walking whisky encyclopedia who was well versed in the dark arts of whisky sales even before we tempted him into the TWE family back in 2007. These days he can be found in the shop and occasionally putting hand to keyboard for the blog.
Musician and occasional inmate of our Vinopolis shop, Hector is know for his lyrical tasting notes and ability to grow a fearsome beard (unleashed only on special occasions). From time to time he graces us with his presence on the blog.
Whisky fan and Australian import, Joel has joined us after a stint of serving fine whiskies at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. When answering the phone in the shop he has the second most recognisable accent.
Nic started collecting and drinking Single Malt Whisky in 2005, starting with a Glenkinchie 10. Since then he has amassed an impressive collection covering Japanese Whisky, Bourbon and Rye Whiskey, and Single Malts. He is now the resident Bourbon and Rye enthusiast at TWE, working on the trade desk.
After working his way round a plethora of drinks companies, Ollie joined the shop team as the Saturday boy in May 2011. Having worked with Alex and Chris on the tastings side and helping organise The Whisky Show Ollie left the surroundings of Borough Market and headed for the bright, headache inducing lights of Head Office where he works as part of The Whisky Show team and as a New Business developer.
Fresh-faced young scamp Toby was a Spiritual Advisor at TWE Vinopolis, but has since moved on into the wider world, now working as a whisky ambassador for Diageo. An enthusiastic competition knitter, Toby’s favourite colour is cerulean blue and his favourite food is artichokes.
An April Fools’ masterpiece! Brilliant!
